Gráfica Antípoda is an engraving and bookbinding workshop in San Pedro, San José, Costa Rica. The word Antípoda (antipode) refers to an "inhabitant of the earth who resides at an opposite point with respect to another" or, to a "person or thing totally contrary to another". Historically, the antipodes were the inhabitants of the dark side of the planet, the unknown. They were described as strange beings with different characteristics: multiple arms, headless and with the face on the torso, or as the icon created for the brand in this logo: with the feet in the opposite direction. Being a graphics enterprise, it seeks to create an illustrated figurative icon that reinforces the idea of graphic creation. In this way, one of those strange beings is represented in a simple, abstract and concrete way.
